Responsibilities
- Manage emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services with exceptional situational awareness
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment to coordinate emergency responses
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain precise documentation of all communications and incident details
- Collaborate with multi-agency responders during large-scale emergencies
- Train new dispatchers on protocols and system operations
- Participate in continuous readiness drills and performance reviews
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of emergency dispatch experience in a 911 center
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with CAD/RMS systems (e.g., SmartCAD, Intergraph)
- Exceptional multitasking abilities during high-stress scenarios
- Clear speaking voice and precise communication skills
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Spanish bilingual certification strongly preferred
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field
