Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software applications using modern frameworks and languages.
- Lead architectural decisions and code reviews to ensure best practices in security, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and government stakeholders, to translate complex requirements into technical specifications.
- Identify technical risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the IT team.
- Optimize database queries and application performance to handle high-volume traffic efficiently.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local data privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably within the public sector or a large enterprise.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or C# and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in a multi-tiered architecture.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
