Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using Java and Python.
- Lead the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based architectures (AWS/Azure).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex public health requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure strict compliance with state data privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) and security standards.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience in a corporate or government setting.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience working with state or federal government systems is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.
