In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our enterprise systems, ensuring 99.99% uptime for essential city services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement modern cloud solutions and enhance our cybersecurity posture.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure, including servers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring high availability and security.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and city assets from cyber threats.
- Lead major IT projects involving system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex hardware and software issues within the government network.
- Conduct system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource allocation and efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage service level agreements and ensure quality delivery of third-party solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls) and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- State of Texas residency or willingness to relocate is required.
