Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, patching, and optimization of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and county data privacy standards.
- Network Administration: Troubleshoot complex network issues, manage firewalls, and ensure high availability of network services for county departments.
- Cloud Integration: Manage Azure cloud resources, including deployments, monitoring, and cost optimization strategies.
- Vendor Management: Lead vendor relationships for hardware and software procurement, ensuring alignment with county budget and technical requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and change management logs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent technical certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Active certification in Microsoft 365, Azure, or CCNA/CCNP is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, SQL database management, and endpoint management solutions (Intune/S Configuration Manager).
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and government personnel.
