Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex server environments and network infrastructure to support high-availability applications.
- Monitor system performance, security protocols, and troubleshoot complex technical issues with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and legacy systems.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal security standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators and IT staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a corporate or government environment.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA are highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Louisiana State Employee Security Clearance.
