Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) for government clients.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Enforce strict cybersecurity protocols and manage access controls in compliance with federal standards.
- Perform regular system backups, patch management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade systems and improve network efficiency.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and procedures for future reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, preferably within the government or public sector.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
