Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure and server environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, including firewall management, intrusion detection, and data encryption to protect sensitive county data.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical system outages and coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
- Develop and document technical procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate cloud solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in system administration or network engineering.
- Proven expertise in Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking principles, VPNs, and Active Directory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
