Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning initiatives for Baltimore's revitalization zones
- Develop and implement zoning policies aligned with city sustainability goals
- Conduct thorough site analysis and impact assessments for development projects
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to ensure inclusive planning outcomes
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local land-use regulations
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and public hearing documentation
- Manage planning department budgets and vendor contracts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in government/municipal settings
- Professional certification (AICP) preferred
- Expertise in GIS mapping and urban design software
- Demonstrated experience with community engagement processes
- Strong knowledge of Maryland zoning and environmental regulations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex projects with competing stakeholder interests
