Responsibilities
- Lead complex land use planning projects including zoning updates and general plan amendments
- Conduct environmental reviews per CEQA regulations
- Manage community engagement processes for major developments
- Analyze demographic and economic data for policy recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering, public works, and transportation departments
- Prepare professional reports and presentations for City Council
- Oversee consultant contracts and project budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
- 5+ years of professional urban planning experience
- Valid California AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS Pro)
- Deep knowledge of California planning laws and CEQA
- Proven experience with public speaking and community outreach
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with waterfront development highly desirable
