Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive land-use analysis and zoning code development for urban renewal projects
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability reviews for major infrastructure initiatives
- Coordinate with community stakeholders to gather input and ensure inclusive planning outcomes
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for city council and public hearings
- Manage GIS data analysis and mapping for urban development projects
- Oversee compliance with state and federal planning regulations
- Mentor junior planning staff and support departmental innovation initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal or regional government planning
- Expert proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and urban modeling tools
- Proven track record in community engagement and stakeholder management
- Strong understanding of Oregon land-use laws (SB 100, Metro Code)
- Experience with climate action planning and sustainable development principles
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean record
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
