Responsibilities
- Analyze local, state, and federal policies to assess impact on Austin communities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using statistical software and public data sources
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations for city council and department leadership
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams on implementation strategies
- Monitor legislative developments and regulatory changes affecting municipal governance
- Facilitate community engagement sessions to gather public input on policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of policy analysis or government experience
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, R, or Python)
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce policy briefs
- Knowledge of Texas state and local government structures
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check
- Texas driver's license required for occasional travel
