Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during natural disasters and public health crises
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for Seattle metropolitan area
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train local government officials and community responders on emergency protocols
- Manage federal grant applications and compliance for disaster mitigation programs
- Prepare detailed incident reports and after-action recommendations
- Serve as primary liaison with FEMA and state homeland security offices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in disaster response or emergency planning
- FEMAI 100/200/700 certification required
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-jurisdictional response teams
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Experience writing federal grant proposals and compliance documentation
- Ability to work rotating shifts during emergency activations
