Responsibilities
- Manage and Optimize Systems: Oversee the daily operations of critical IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for state agencies.
- Data Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive state data in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support to internal staff, resolving complex issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute software upgrades, system migrations, and digital transformation projects.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external technology vendors to manage contracts, ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and coordinate technical implementations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system diagrams, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or data analysis within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and California Public Records Act compliance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure and deliver solutions in a timely manner.
