Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, patching, and monitoring of server infrastructure and operating systems during the weekend shift.
- Ticket Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues reported by state employees to ensure minimal disruption to public services.
- Data Security: Enforce state security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and manage access controls to protect sensitive government data.
- Backup & Recovery: Execute scheduled data backups and verify restoration procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of system performance, incidents, and resolutions in accordance with government standards.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with weekday teams to ensure seamless handoff of ongoing projects and critical alerts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA certification is highly preferred.
- Government Knowledge: Experience working within a government or public sector environment is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL databases.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
