Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Perform routine server maintenance, patch management, and security updates during non-business hours to minimize downtime.
- Data Integrity: Monitor system logs and perform data backups to ensure the safety of critical state records.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues reported by internal staff during the weekend shift.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities and system changes in compliance with state IT governance policies.
- Access Management: Assist in the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and system access permissions.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to and resolve critical IT incidents affecting state operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or system administration.
- Availability: Must be available to work a rotating weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the State of Washington.
