Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain critical state government network infrastructure during evening and night shifts.
- Perform regular security patches, system updates, and configuration changes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Provide technical support to state employees and resolve complex IT issues remotely or on-site.
- Document system configurations, network changes, and incident reports accurately.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to ensure seamless handovers of critical operations.
- Respond to emergency alerts and system outages within SLA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration, system engineering, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments is highly desirable.
- Must be available to work a rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM or 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM).
- Ability to pass a federal/state background check and security clearance.
