Responsibilities
- Operate state vehicles to transport personnel and materials across the Charlotte metro area and surrounding counties.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle conditions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all traffic laws and state safety regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding schedules and route changes.
- Represent the State of North Carolina professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as required.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Residency within the state of North Carolina (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
