Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network technical issues for government staff.
- Implement and enforce state data security policies and compliance standards.
- Perform regular system backups and conduct disaster recovery testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade infrastructure and software systems.
- Document technical procedures and provide end-user training.
- Respond to emergency IT requests and service tickets promptly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Valid State of Texas driver’s license (required for occasional field operations).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, and network protocols (TCP/IP).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours during peak periods and respond to system emergencies.
