Role Overview:
The State Park Ranger is responsible for the protection, conservation, and presentation of state park resources. You will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring safety while maintaining the integrity of the park.
Responsibilities
- Patrol park grounds to ensure safety, security, and compliance with state and federal laws.
- Enforce park regulations, issue citations when necessary, and manage emergency situations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, including answering inquiries and offering educational programs.
- Monitor and maintain park facilities, trails, and natural resources.
- Assist with visitor registration, permits, and fee collection.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with local emergency services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor activities, including hiking and lifting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of environmental science or law enforcement is preferred.
