Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of pension benefit claims and retirement applications.
- Analyze complex financial data to ensure accurate disbursement of state pension funds.
- Provide expert guidance to retirees and beneficiaries regarding eligibility and plan provisions.
- Ensure full compliance with California Government Codes and federal pension regulations.
- Collaborate with the HR and Legal departments to resolve benefit discrepancies.
- Maintain rigorous confidentiality of sensitive employee records and financial information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or government benefits.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of state government payroll systems and PERS (Public Employees' Retirement System).
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced weekend environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions.
