Responsibilities
- Oversee design and construction of major highway/bridge projects in Miami-Dade County
- Manage $50M+ transportation budgets with strict compliance protocols
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders
- Ensure all projects meet FDOT safety and environmental standards
- Develop innovative solutions for urban congestion and sea-level resilience
- Prepare federal grant applications and regulatory compliance documents
- Mentor junior engineers through FDOT's professional development program
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with state/federal projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Demonstrated experience with FDOT design standards and FTA/FHWA regulations
- Strong project management credentials (PMP preferred)
- Knowledge of Miami-Dade County permitting processes
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for public presentations
