Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections and data collection for highway construction and maintenance projects
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software
- Assist in traffic studies, accident analysis, and traffic signal timing
- Review contractor submittals for compliance with design standards and safety protocols
- Coordinate with local agencies, contractors, and stakeholders on project updates
- Generate technical reports and documentation for project milestones
- Support stormwater management and erosion control compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of transportation engineering or construction inspection experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software
- Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Knowledge of TxDOT standards, MUTCD guidelines, and TXDOT specifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in field conditions
- Valid Texas Engineering Technician (ET) certification preferred
