Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, design, and execution of transportation infrastructure projects across San Antonio
- Manage $5M+ project budgets with rigorous fiscal accountability and reporting
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with federal/state transportation regulations (FHWA, TxDOT standards)
- Lead stakeholder engagement with city officials, community leaders, and public interest groups
- Implement innovative traffic flow solutions and sustainable infrastructure designs
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for complex urban projects
- Generate comprehensive progress reports for executive leadership and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of transportation project management experience in public sector
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Expertise in FHWA/TxDOT compliance and infrastructure funding mechanisms
- Proven track record of managing complex urban transportation projects
- Advanced proficiency in project management software (MS Project, AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of San Antonio's transportation landscape and development codes
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences
