Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for urban and rural areas
- Analyze traffic patterns, demographic data, and infrastructure needs to inform policy decisions
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies on multimodal transportation projects
- Prepare technical reports, environmental impact statements, and public outreach materials
- Manage grant applications and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Utilize GIS software and modeling tools to forecast transportation demands
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, TransCAD, or similar transportation modeling software
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
- Excellent written communication for reports and presentations
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Familiarity with NEPA and transportation funding regulations
