Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray and detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections according to TSA protocols
- Monitor airport checkpoints and secure areas to prevent security breaches
- Operate complex security technology including CT scanners and trace detection systems
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of security procedures and incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn security technologies
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
