Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo to detect weapons, explosives, and other prohibited items
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment
- Perform pat-down searches and bag inspections as necessary
- Communicate effectively with travelers to ensure compliance with security procedures
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies in accordance with TSA protocols
- Maintain accurate records and reports of security activities
- Work collaboratively with other security personnel and law enforcement
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSA Credentialed)
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
