Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, CT scanners, and explosive detection systems to screen passengers, baggage, and cargo
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and body scans following TSA protocols
- Manage security checkpoints with efficiency and professionalism during peak travel times
- Respond to security breaches and suspicious packages with calm authority
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Train on emerging security technologies and threat detection methodologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA training academy (4-6 weeks)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and reach overhead equipment
- No felony convictions or disqualifying employment history
