Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough security checks to detect prohibited items and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment including metal detectors, X-ray machines, and trace detection systems
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed reports following standard protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security concerns
- Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid government-issued photo identification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred for Laredo)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
