Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with appropriate protocols
- Provide clear instructions to passengers regarding security procedures and requirements
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of security screening activities and incidents
- Stay updated on TSA regulations and security threat information through ongoing training
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn security technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
