Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes to ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections when necessary
- Maintain vigilance for suspicious activity and report security concerns to supervisors
- Operate advanced security technology and maintain equipment functionality
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency for document verification
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights/weekends/holidays
- Successful completion of TSA training academy
