Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Conduct pat-down searches and additional screenings as mandated by TSA protocols.
- Operate security equipment and identify prohibited items with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain orderly checkpoint operations while enforcing security regulations with professionalism.
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations.
- Assist passengers with disabilities and special screening requirements with empathy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds unassisted.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior security experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating shifts.
- Proficiency in English with clear verbal communication abilities.
- Must complete TSA Academy training program upon hiring.
