Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict security protocols
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in continuous training on new security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid Social Security Number
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass extensive background check and fingerprinting
- Successfully complete TSA security screening assessment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA Security Officer credential
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
