Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA guidelines
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or anomalies
- Communicate effectively with travelers regarding security procedures and regulations
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during security breaches or emergencies
- Ensure compliance with TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
