Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct physical searches of individuals, baggage, and cargo as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Communicate security procedures and instructions clearly to passengers
- Identify and report suspicious items or activities to supervisory personnel
- Maintain accurate security screening records and documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security agencies during incidents
Qualifications
- US citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
