Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Identify and report prohibited items or suspicious activities
- Maintain security checkpoint efficiency while providing courteous customer service
- Adhere to TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA Security Screening Certification
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for document verification systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
