Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security technologies
- Identify and report prohibited items according to TSA regulations and protocols
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness to detect suspicious behavior or potential threats
- Provide professional customer service to travelers, including explaining screening procedures and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents or emergencies
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately in official reports
- Participate in regular security drills and training sessions to maintain proficiency
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status with required documentation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for specific duties)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Proficient in English with clear communication skills
