Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections of persons and property
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or items
- Enforce TSA regulations and security procedures with professionalism and tact
- Assist travelers with screening processes while maintaining efficient checkpoint flow
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate logs and reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
