Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray and detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and body scans as required by security protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity or potential threats
- Enforce TSA regulations while maintaining professional and courteous passenger interactions
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment including metal detectors and explosive trace detection systems
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours) in fast-paced environments
- Proficient in English with strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for security documentation systems
