Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using TSA-provided X-ray machines, metal detectors, and CT scanners
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Operate advanced imaging technology and explosive detection equipment
- Enforce security protocols at checkpoints while maintaining professional customer service
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training on evolving security procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Fluent in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for equipment operation
