Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray and metal detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures when necessary
- Maintain constant vigilance at security checkpoints to identify potential security threats
- Operate CT scanners, ETD machines, and other TSA-approved security technology
- Enforce TSA security protocols while providing courteous customer service to travelers
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports according to agency standards
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory requirement)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old with government-issued photo ID
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating schedules
- Basic computer literacy for security system operation
