Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to inspect passengers, baggage, and cargo
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections when necessary
- Analyze screening monitor displays to identify prohibited items and potential security threats
- Communicate effectively with passengers to explain security procedures and address concerns
- Maintain detailed logs of screening activities and security incidents
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in continuous training on updated security protocols and threat detection techniques
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid California driver's license preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
