Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate advanced security screening equipment, including X-ray machines and metal detectors, to identify prohibited items in carry-on baggage and on passengers.
- Passenger Interaction: Communicate effectively with the public to ensure a smooth and secure screening process, maintaining a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all TSA security regulations, procedures, and laws to prevent security breaches and ensure compliance with federal standards.
- Physical Screening: Perform thorough physical searches of passengers and property to detect dangerous objects, weapons, or other threats to aviation security.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, reports, and logs accurately and in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and other screeners to optimize checkpoint flow and resolve security issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a national (including those born abroad of U.S. citizen parents).
- Education: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Criminal History: Must undergo a thorough background investigation and possess no disqualifying criminal history.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a medical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and understand English instructions.
- Availability: Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
