Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems to screen passengers, baggage, and cargo
- Conduct thorough physical screenings including pat-downs and body scanning procedures
- Analyze security monitor feeds to identify potential threats and prohibited items
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining professional interactions with travelers
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities according to TSA guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in regular training sessions to maintain proficiency with evolving security technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
