Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections according to TSA protocols
- Identify and resolve security threats through keen observation and analytical skills
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Enforce TSA regulations with firm yet courteous demeanor while explaining procedures to travelers
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Operate and troubleshoot complex screening equipment in high-pressure environments
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must complete TSA Academy training program (paid)
- Ability to stand/walk for 6+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail with observational skills
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
