Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical responders using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident reports
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergencies (e.g., CPR guidance)
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Monitor radio channels and maintain situational awareness
- Update and maintain accurate information in public safety databases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in computer systems with typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
