As a key member of our security team, you'll conduct passenger and baggage screenings at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough physical screenings of passengers and carry-on baggage following TSA protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for all passengers
- Maintain security checkpoints in accordance with federal regulations and SOPs
- Respond effectively to security alerts and potential threats with calm professionalism
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security procedures
- Document security incidents and operational discrepancies accurately
- Participate in regular training sessions to maintain certification and stay updated on protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
