Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to inspect passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo
- Conduct thorough physical screenings and pat-downs following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or items
- Communicate clearly with passengers regarding security procedures and requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security breaches
- Enforce TSA regulations while maintaining customer service standards
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a thorough background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Pass TSA-mandated security clearance and drug screening
- No criminal record or history of illegal drug use
