Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify suspicious behavior or prohibited items
- Enforce TSA regulations and provide clear instructions to travelers
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during security alerts
- Maintain equipment calibration and operational readiness
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security card
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- No felony convictions or disqualifying employment history
