Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items.
- Enforce Regulations: Adhere strictly to TSA security protocols and federal regulations to ensure the safety of the airport environment.
- Passenger Interaction: Communicate effectively and professionally with travelers, providing clear instructions and resolving security concerns calmly.
- Alertness & Vigilance: Maintain a high level of situational awareness to identify potential threats or irregularities in screening areas.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork accurately, including screening logs and incident reports.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic checks and maintenance on screening equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow screeners and supervisors to maintain an efficient security flow.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a federal background investigation and drug screening.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions. Must meet specific visual and hearing standards.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Reliability: Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Behavior: Demonstrate good moral character, honesty, and integrity.
